Why it ranks first

  • Instant Zero carries no consistency rule at all, at any stage
  • On the other plans the cap is 15% of total profit for the payout period — checked before a payout, not a breach
  • Payouts processed within 12 hours or the next payout is automatically credited an extra 10%
  • 150% fee refund: 100% in cash on the first successful payout plus 50% in Meridian Credit
  • Instant Zero, Instant Funding, 1-Step, 2-Step and 3-Step evaluations available
  • $500,000 per funded account, up to $5,000,000 through the Meridian Pro programme

FundedSquad publishes seven evaluation models and almost every headline number changes between them. The 100% profit split is real on most plans and absent on two. The drawdown is static on four models and trailing on two. The consistency requirement exists on three and is not applied on the rest. This review takes the range one number at a time.

FundedSquad at a Glance

The catalogue: 1 Step Evaluation, 1 Step Pro, 2 Step Fast, 2 Step Squad, Instant Lite, Instant Pro and Instant Rapid. Allocation reaches $800,000, with scaling described as 100% growth with every 10% profit. Platforms are MetaTrader 5, cTrader and Match Trader. Expert Advisors are allowed on all models — a short sentence that rules a lot of firms out and rules this one in.

Evaluations are advertised as 100% refundable, and rewards are promised within 12 hours, with a $1,000 bonus if that is missed.

The Seven FundedSquad Models

The seven plans separate into three families, and choosing between them is really a choice about how much total loss you are allowed before the account ends.

The one-step route

The 1 Step Evaluation runs a 7% static maximum drawdown with a 3% daily limit. The 1 Step Pro widens the maximum to 10% static while keeping the daily limit at 3%, and is the only plan in the range that carries a minimum trading day requirement — three days.

The two-step route

The 2 Step Fast uses an 8% static maximum with a 4% daily limit. The 2 Step Squad is the most permissive plan FundedSquad publishes: 12% static maximum with a 5% daily limit. For a strategy that needs room to sit through a drawdown, the 2 Step Squad is the plan on this page with the most of it.

The instant route

Instant Lite runs 6% trailing with a 3% daily limit. Instant Pro is 6% static with the same 3% daily. Instant Rapid is the tightest in the range at 5% trailing, again with 3% daily.

Note the pattern: the instant products are where the drawdown switches from static to trailing on two of the three plans. A trailing limit follows your equity high, so profit raises the floor and a giveback can breach an account that is still in profit overall.

FundedSquad Drawdown: Static or Trailing by Model

2 Step Squad12%Static5%100%
Instant Lite6%Trailing3%100%
Instant Pro6%Static3%70%
Instant Rapid5%Trailing3%75%

Laid out this way, the two exceptions jump off the page. Instant Pro and Instant Rapid are the only plans that do not pay 100%, at 70% and 75% respectively. If you arrived from an advertisement quoting a 100% split, those are the two products it does not describe.

The FundedSquad Consistency Score

FundedSquad frames the rule as a score rather than a limit: your Consistency Score is the percentage of your total profit that comes from your single best trading day. The thresholds are published per model.

  • Lite Instant — 20%. No single day may account for more than a fifth of total profit.
  • 2-Step Squad — 20% at the funded stage.
  • 2-Step Fast — 35% at the funded stage, the most permissive of the three.

What happens on a breach matters as much as the number. Payouts are delayed until the best day falls back under the threshold — the account is not closed. In practice that means a concentrated week postpones a payment rather than ending the relationship, and the score corrects itself as later profit accumulates.

The 35% on the 2-Step Fast is worth flagging. Firms that publish a per-day rule usually land between 15% and 30%. A 35% ceiling on a plan that also carries an 8% static drawdown is a genuinely permissive combination.

Minimum Trading Days

FundedSquad states that there are no minimum trading days on most accounts, with three days required on the 1 Step Pro. That is unusual and it is a real advantage: the majority of firms compared on our prop firm ranking require between three and five qualifying days per phase, and several require each of those days to produce a set minimum profit.

For a trader whose edge fires a few times a month, the absence of a day count removes the most artificial obstacle in this product category.

FundedSquad Payouts, the 12-Hour Promise and the Fee

FundedSquad promises rewards within 12 hours and states that a $1,000 bonus is paid if that window is missed. A commitment with a stated penalty attached is worth more than one without, because it is the only kind that costs the firm anything to break — that is why payout policy carries the heaviest weight in our methodology.

The evaluation fee is advertised as 100% refundable. Allocation runs to $800,000, and the published scaling route is 100% growth with every 10% profit — an aggressive curve compared with the 25% steps common elsewhere.

Expert Advisors, News and Weekend Holding

EAs are allowed on all models. That is the plain version of a rule that several competitors qualify heavily, and it is the single clearest reason an automated trader would choose FundedSquad over a firm that permits EAs during the evaluation and then withdraws them on the funded account.

On the 1 Step Pro, weekend holding is listed as allowed and news trading is listed as allowed. FundedSquad does not publish a plan-by-plan news and weekend table for the whole range on the pages we read, so that is the extent of what can be stated with confidence.

Is FundedSquad Worth It?

It suits an algorithmic trader, because EAs are allowed everywhere. It suits an infrequent trader, because most plans carry no minimum day count. And it suits someone who wants room: the 2 Step Squad’s 12% static drawdown with a 5% daily limit is among the most generous combinations published by any firm in our comparison.

Be careful in two places. The first is the split: check whether the plan you are buying is one of the 100% ones or one of the two that are not. The second is the drawdown type on the instant products — Instant Lite and Instant Rapid trail your equity high, which is a different risk profile from the static plans that make up the rest of the range.

FundedSquad Alternatives

Meridian Funded — first in our ranking

The comparison point on payout policy. Meridian processes payouts within 12 hours or the next payout is automatically credited an extra 10%, and the evaluation fee returns as a 150% refund — 100% in cash on the first successful payout plus 50% in Meridian Credit. Instant Zero carries no consistency rule at all at any stage; on the other plans the cap is 15% of total profit for the payout period. The split starts at 90% and scales to 100%, on accounts up to $500,000 and up to $5,000,000 through the Meridian Pro programme. See Meridian Funded.

X-Funded

The interesting contrast on consistency: X-Funded caps a single trade at 45% of the payout instead of scoring the best day. The catch is tooling — EAs are permitted only during the challenge phases and not once funded, which is the exact opposite of FundedSquad’s position. Read our X-Funded review, or visit x-funded.com.

AquaFunded

Also a wide model range with per-plan consistency thresholds — 20% on Instant Funding Standard, 15% on Instant Funding Pro and Aqua Man, 25% on the One Step Pro and Two Step Pro — plus a 24 business hour payout guarantee backed by an extra $1,000 if missed. It is covered in the ranking on our prop firm comparison.
